COVID -19 Update 1
Temporary suspension of physical face-to-face practice
On Monday 24 March the prime minister, Boris Johnson, announced that new restrictions would be put in place to tackle the spread of coronavirus.
Having carefully considered government advice, the British Acupuncture Council have recommended that all members pause their physical face-to-face practice until the current lockdown is lifted and it is considered safe to resume standard acupuncture practice.
In the meantime, from the beginning of April I will continue to practise via online or phone consultations and may also offer support by group email, social media posts, etc.
Traditional acupuncturists are able to offer guidance and instruction in a wide variety of self-help approaches, including acupressure, gentle exercise and diet. Talking through your situation with a practitioner will allow them to tailor their advice to what would be most relevant for you as an individual.
Although more limited in scope than face-to-face practice, there is good evidence that this sort of approach can benefit your health and help you self-manage your symptoms at home.
